top 10 unfinished projects of 2011

Some of my favorite bloggers are posting their Top 10 (Finished) Projects of 2011.  I wish that I could play along, but since most of my projects remain unfinished I would only have a few to share.  So...in hopes that I can have an amazing post at the end of December 2012, here are my Top 10 Unfinished Projects of 2011.

10.  A bookcase that used to be in my son's room has been in my study looking just like this since May.  Yes - for 7 months this has been my bookcase.  Let's see...it needs to be painted and it would work better with shelves!

9.  This actually only became a project this week.  I found it at my favorite thrift store for $3.  Not sure where it's going to go or what color I'll paint it.  But I thought it had some cute potential!

8.  A little end table that I bought, once again at my favorite thrift shop, needs to be painted black.  I think I spent $7.50 on the table.

7.  Ughhh...the dining room wall.  I've been hating this wall for 3 years now and have started collecting frames, pictures, etc. to put on it for the last few months.  A work in progress...

6.  These two cornice boards came out of my kitchen in May 2010.  I was never fond of the sharpness of the board and the fabric didn't go with our decor.  I've decided to repurpose them and hang them in the basement...AFTER I recover them.

5.  Once again, a find from my thrift store.  A little lamp for $3.50 needs a coat of paint.  And I need to decide where its new home will be.

4.  Another lovely cornice board.  Not sure where it's going or what fabric I'll use.  Either need to reuse it or give it away this year.  I have a feeling it'll go into my son's bedroom.

3.  Ummm...I need to stop visiting my thrift store until I get caught up on projects!  This headboard came from there and it's going to become a chalkboard.  $7.50 spent.

2.  And this is the foot board which will also be a chalkboard.  $7.50 spent.

1.  And #1...although this isn't in any particular order! I saw this on sale for $5 and thought it was a great sized basket.  Need to decide what to do with it!

It seems like I visit my little thrift shop quite a bit.  I can't help myself!  This week I went in and found a ton of  very cool antique-ish folding metal chairs for $1 each.  I grabbed 12 and when I was loading them into the truck I asked the volunteer who was helping me if a church nearby had updated its chairs.  He told me that they came from the set of The Walking DeadHow cool is that?  Now I've got "conversation starter" chairs.  I bought them to go outside by our fire pit and to use as needed when we need extra chairs for card tables and such.

Many of my "treasures" from the thrift store have ended up living in my craft room this year with nothing but good intentions.   Since next month is a No-Spend Month, I think I'll tackle some of these projects where I have supplies on hand and all I really need is to set aside the time to finish the project!

Stay tuned...hopefully this time next year this will be a repeat post only with the word "finished" in the subject line!!!

What about you?   Do you have as many pending projects as I do, or do you finish your projects before starting something new?

Number 2, or 11? I dunno, that little chair. If you are into any sort of plants or plawers, it would look adorable out front with a potted plant on top of it! (after a layer of paint of course!)
